Preparation is key when tiling to ensure a high quality, long lasting result from your tiles. Primer is used to prepare the surface and increase the bond of the adhesive, leveling and waterproofing compounds onto the surface. Substrates that may be porous or impervious, very smooth or rough, or dusty and powdery require a primer.
