The Snug Townhouse 

We are proud to have been involved with Burkeway Homes and LUCA Architecture on this stunning commercial project in Galway City. 

The Snug Townhouse, formerly known as Snoozles is a 35 bedroom contemporary style hotel located right in the centre of Galway City's vibrant heart. 

Tub & Tiles are extremely proud to once again have had the opportunity to work with Burkeway Homes, whom are renowned for building and producing some of the finest homes and in the West of Ireland.  

Burkeway Homes engaged the award winning Architects LUCA and briefed them on their vision of wanting to bring a new Hotel experience to the Galway Market.  A contemporary stylish, modern and urban offering for the guests, who know quality, and demand the highest of comfort and not compromising on the experience due to its unbeatable location.  

The Snug Townhouse,  a 35 bedroom Hotel, spanning over 4 buildings is located right in heart of the Latin Quarter on Quay Street.

The hotel's architecture focuses on color, space and shapes with minimal interiors that are sleek and fresh. Our lead on this project was Mark McLoughlin - Tubs & Tiles Commercial Business Development Manager for the Midlands and West of Ireland. 

Mark commented: "I’ve worked with Burkeway Homes since 2015 and have collaborated with them on several of their residential and commercial projects since then including Nox Hotel, Maoilin, Breacan and Fanan. Over that time we’ve developed a strong working relationship and were delighted to be approached to put together a proposal for the tiles and sanitary ware for Burkeway's fun and creative project - The Snug Townhouse on Quay Street in Galway."

After some initial meetings with Diane Burke Managing Director of The Snug Townhouse and Catherine from LUCA Architecture we were in a position to put a product proposal together to fit the brief.

Space was at a premium in the bathrooms, and as you can see from the photos each bathroom layout and size was unique. We opted for Duravit short projection wall hung toilets with black flush-plates. Mark advised the striking, contemporary yellow counter mounted basins from one of our key suppliers of innovatively designed baths and wash basins, Adamsez, were his favourite piece to source and include in the bathrooms. 

All brassware & shower controls supplied were from Hansgrohe. These were all in a striking black finish to add to the modern look Burkeway Homes desired and because they are manufactured to the high quality specifications of Hansgrohe they will withstand the demands of what is sure to be a very busy hotel. The various formats of shower enclosures are also in a matt black finish to suit the spaces available. Flair, one of our newest partners, produced these high quality shower doors.

To complement the funky design we used a pre-cut porcelain wall tile from our Cinca Arquitectos range. These were grouted using Ebony grout from the Bal Micromax range to give a striking appearance. The anti-slip floor tile was the Concept range from Ragno who one of our most trusted manufacturers of Italian porcelain.

'Working on The Snug Townhouse meant we had to be creative in our use of space and adapt our designs for each of the rooms according the unique features of the building. We wanted to provide an interior décor that was quirky with a striking visual appeal while also functioning exceptionally well for guests. It was essential that the designs and product selected were of high quality and were durable so as to look amazing for years to come. This held particularly true when selecting product for the bathrooms so we were delighted to have the expertise of Mark from Tubs & Tiles Commercial who proposed some wonderful bathroom options. We are very pleased with both the look and the calibre of products used to create the final bathroom designs and commend Mark and the team in Tubs & Tiles for their expert advice and guidance in selecting the right products and the entirely professional fulfillment service which provided great peace of mind during the construction phase.
